LOS ANGELES (Sept. 24, 2008) – LEHR Incorporated, an innovator in environmentally friendly technology, announced that its founder and CEO, Captain Bernardo J. Herzer, has been granted the first of multiple patents filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Sept. 16, 2008. The patent, entitled “Portable Gas Powered Internal Combustion Engine Arrangement,” covers the use of a standard 16.4-ounce propane tank to power internal combustion engines like those used to run hand-held lawn and garden tools.
Through extensive research, LEHR has created the technology for lawn and garden tools that replaces gasoline in internal combustion engines with a portable source of propane power. LEHR’s initial line of lawn and garden equipment incorporates revolutionary and proprietary technology that allows for the utilization of economical, portable and safe propane power for mainstream applications. Using the 16.4-ounce LPG canister, LEHR equipment is safer, healthier and easier to use than its gasoline counterparts and requires little maintenance over the course of a full season of use.
Propane has long been recognized as a “green” energy source that helps cut emissions and protect the environment. Under the Clean Air Act of 1990 and the National Energy Policy Act of 1992, propane is an approved alternative fuel. Propane does not contain ozone-depleting chemicals and has no adverse ecological effects on ground water and soil.
“Propane is a ‘green‘ gas and it’s a much better use of our natural resources than running engines on regular gasoline,” said Captain Bernardo J. Herzer, founder and CEO of LEHR. “The LEHR research and development team continues to develop new and better green energy solutions, providing consumers with clean, safe and economical options in lawn and garden tools at competitive prices,”
The LEHR Eco Trimmer – powered by clean, green propane, the world’s number one alternative motor fuel, will be available at retailers in 2009. The LEHR Eco Trimmer is the first product to come to market from the LEHR Eco Series, a complete line of propane powered lawn and garden equipment.
